The Parish Education Board is concerned primarily with St. Dominic's School,
but also with the educational needs of the children of the parish enrolled
in other schools, and with providing and initiating appropriate forms of
continuing education for adults. It acts as a forum for discussion
on matters concerning all aspects of education. It brings together, in
a spirit of co-operation, parish priest, principal, representatives of
parents, teachers and other groups involved with education in the community
so that responsible, informed advice can be given to the parish priest
and principal. Some of the work undertaken by the Board includes
assisting in future planning; the development of educational policy; communication
with the school community; assisting in preparation of finance policy and
the annual financial budget; liaising with the Parent Teacher Association;
celebrating the achievements and work of Catholic education in the parish
and school; developing the enrolment policy; and having a distinct
pastoral role within the community.
